IIITB COMET Foundation is the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at IIIT Bangalore (IIITB), established under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical System (NM-ICPS), DST, Government of India. The primary focus of this TIH will be on the generation of new knowledge (Intellectual Properties, Patents, Publications, Products, Entrepreneurship, Highly Skilled Manpower Training) through basic and applied research in the areas of Advanced Communication Systems (ACS).  The major area of focus of this TIH is to prepare the next generation of wireless communication systems.

In particular, the IIITB COMET Foundation will focus on fostering research driven projects that aim on expanding the frontiers of knowledge in the ACS area, developing indigenous research and IPR leading to possible products/Transfer of Technology that can have national and international impact. To this end, we have floated call for proposals in two categories of ACS projects (please see our Call For Proposals page). The timelines of these projects range from three to four years. The focus of the projects can range from generating foundational knowledge to development of novel prototypes, IPR, papers published in reputed peer-reviewed venues, and niche manpower training. The above research-oriented work may lead to some start-ups, Transfer of Technology (ToT) and products.
