Call For Proposal

Innovative Design of RF Transceiver Components for 5G/6G Communication Systems

As 5G/6G networks continue to drive the future of connectivity, advanced RF transceiver components are critical to achieving the high performance and reliability required in these systems.

IIITB COMET Foundation invites proposals for the development of innovative RF transceiver technologies to support next-generation communication systems in the 2 – 8.4 GHz frequency range, with applications spanning industrial IoT, smart infrastructure, and ultra-reliable low-latency communications.

Proposals should address the design and prototyping of key RF transceiver components operating in the challenging environments of 5G/6G systems. Possible focus areas include, but are not limited to phase-locked loops (PLLs), low dropout (LDO) regulators, power amplifiers, adaptive RF front-end components, etc.

Proposals should demonstrate a clear plan for advancing the technology from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 to TRL 7, encompassing simulation, fabrication, prototyping, and validation in relevant environments. Emphasis will be placed on scalability, manufacturability, and alignment with 5G/6G standards as applicable.

Eligibility Criteria: An academic institute, or a consortium of academic institutes and industry lead by an academic institute. The project investigators should have prior experience in wireless networks research and development.

Funding: Projects are expected to run over 18-24 months.

Submission Deadline: February 09, 2024. Submission Instructions: Please download the proposal template, fill in the required details, and email the completed proposal in PDF format only to comet@iiitb.ac.in.
