Innovation Manager

IIITB COMET Foundation (A section 8 company) is hiring for the post of Innovation Manager.

Job Description:

  • Develop an innovation agenda for the Foundation, in consultation with the CEO, the Chairman of the Hub, Governing Body of IIITB COMET Foundation and PIs of the projects funded by IIITB COMET Foundation.
    • Work with sponsoring ministries to identify problem statements relevant to IIITB COMET foundation and draft CFPs to invite start-ups to build solutions to these problems
    • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and foster a vibrant innovation ecosystem.
    • Identify the scope for Foundation to conduct Grand Challenges
  • Support identification and development of start-ups to incubate and fund
    • Identify and conduct start-up programs relevant to the Foundation to support start-up cohorts
    • Lead and support technology-based start-ups and entrepreneurs in their innovation and commercialization journey.
  • Monitor lifecycle and development of funded start-ups, and provide corrective actions where needed;
    • Support existing channels and develop, effective communication structures to maximise viability of start-ups;
    • Report progress of start-ups to stakeholders and management
    • Communicate effectively and develop strong professional relationships with relevant senior level staff across the University and external stakeholders.
  • Support productization of developed technology through transition of technologies to larger and/or market ready companies
  • Contribute to building a technical brand for the Foundation
    • Network with Innovation networks such as Nasscom and TiE
  • Build value for the Foundation by driving patenting efforts wherever possible
  • Any other task assigned by the Chairman, HGB or the CEO of the TIH

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Needed:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a related field. B Tech / M Tech in ECE / CSE with relevant experience could also be considered
  • Age 40-50 (preferred)
  • Good Communication Skills
  • At least 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship, with a track record of successful incubation and commercialization of technology-based start-up
